In the old days (think John Wayne cowboy movies) the bad actors had to get horses, guns, maps, a hideout, travel many miles, maybe shoot and kill to rob a train, stage coach or bank....

These days all you need is computer, internet connection, illicit software and (usually) an entitlement attitude to suck money from every Tom Dick and Harry who might click on an ad....

How many are vetting the ad streams on their sites? Over the years I've dropped Adsense to just TWO sites, and even then only 1 per page (actually gives best return though many will argue against that stat). The rest of my sites are direct and other methods.

Yet, for those 1 ad appearances I do all I can to vet the incoming, deny the not desired, and othrwise keep a close eye on the content of those ads.

Just asking what YOU are doing. G has recently started to make webmasters look BAD because a Download Now button appears in ads. CAUTION WARNING DANGER WILL ROBINSON! kind of stuff. Are you being proactive in deleting such content?

What steps, if any, have you taken?

If I see ads that look like they are part of my sites I will block the advertiser. (such as 'You are the 1 millionth visitor', 'Download our App now' etc)
