Can we still get 3 ads showing in one 300px box?

Back in the old days (the good old days), Adsense would show 3 different text ads in one of those square ads (300x250, and 336x280). they had 3 rows in the box, with different ads in each.

but all i can get them to show these days is one huge ad taking up the entire box, with a massive button in it. i always think it looks a bit tacky like that. it's a similar story for the 728x60 ads (although i've dumped those now) — i just get one huge text ad spanning the entire thing.

i have tried changing the text size to something smaller, but that doesnt work. i still end up with one ad in the box.
its almost a total waste of time fiddling with the colours and sizes these days, because google seems to ignore them 5 times out of 10.

has anyone figured out a way to "encourage" google to fill each space with multiple ads? like they did in the old days?

No way to encourage, but I still get those from time to time. Mostly on large skyscrapers

i've just noticed that you can't change the font size anymore either. they seem to have removed the option for that. all i've got is the dropdown for the font family
