Leaning text ads?

I've seen quite a few examples of this today - text ads rendering on a strange angle. Not happening with image ads, only text. It looks appalling on the page. Has anyone experienced it before?

Are you sure? Looks like, smells like, and acts like an image to me. :)

Then again, if a screen shot of actual text skewed on the page, then that's a bit cool. Subtle enough to draw the eye, yet not all dancing jiggling. I can think of a CSS rule to stagger line height to do the same thing.

It's a screencap of course but I haven't altered it. It's as it appears on the page. Not unique to one advertiser either. It's certainly nothing I've done in terms of CSS. Quite odd.

As it is not offensive or just plain WEIRD I'd not worry (if that is your thought) because it is minor eye candy (a distorted line) which is not all that abnormal... just enough to draw the eye.

This can be done is JS or CSS, with work in the latter, and you, the publisher, have no requirement to implement.

Oddly enough, this is, as I said above, kind of cool. Stands out but does NOT detract the normal eye scan. Reminds me that no matter how good I am, or how much "graphic" I love, I still don't have all the answers and will forever be "watching and learning" from the world around me.

You mentioned "a few days"... Do you have any metrics collected to say actual "yea" or "nay" on the results?

No, not a few days, only in the last 24 hours. RPM is higher than normal so perhaps it's a good thing.
It's not a problem, I just find it curious. Being a symmetrical kind of guy, I tend to notice such things.
