Is Google testing me?

I've been getting great performance from my AdSense ads (2% CTR) since I found the right recipe. But all of a sudden clicks completely stopped. I looked at my pages and I'm now getting the same two ads on every page. I know I was getting nicely targeted ads on many pages that are now showing the same two ads as every other page.

Could Google be testing my site to find out if there is some kind of click fraud going on?

I realized that I added some text right above the ads about the same time the ads stopped rotating. After a little Googling, it turns out that's not allowed. I've removed the text and we'll see if the ad rotation renews.

Ad rotation is back. Google is really on the ball.

Lucky they didn't freeze you immediately. :)

I'm glad that the ads finally appeared for you!

The TOS here stops us discussing specific numbers, but I would say that you may be able to improve on 2%. That's about what I was getting with a right aligned 120 skyscraper banner. Since moving it to the centre of the page and changing it to a square box that's nearly trebled and stayed constant.

Experiment to see what gives you the best performance. It takes time to asses any changes, so be patient!

Googles inventory of advertisers seems to be growing. A year ago I would probably get 50% PSA's - now I never see a PSA. I think the icreased inventory has affected my earnings :) It's very much a long term thing this googling lark!
