This is my first ever post in WebmasterWorld (although I have been following the forum for more than a year). I have been using google adsense for 18 months now and have been pleased by a slow and steady increase of revenue with each passing month until this unusual problem hit it.

Half of my website pages are now showing "Ads by Google" instead of the routine "Ads by Gooooogle". Ad boxes with "Ads by Google" are showing totally untargeted ads unrelated to any content on the pages. This is upsetting me a lot as my revenue have taken a dip of about 50% ( this has been happening for the last two weeks). Some of my site visitors are also upset about being shown some inappropriate ads on serious pages.

Pages with the routine "Ads by Gooooogle" are still showing good and targeted ads.

I am running ad blocks of every size on different pages but till now I have only noticed this phenomenon in half of my skyscrapers and some of my full banners.

I have tried everything from my side including changing the code and sizes to reinvite adsense spider but nothing changed (even after the visits of the spiders).

I have written to goog techs a few days ago, but still waiting for a reply. Has anyone else noted a similar phenomenon? Any information from veterans? Is this some kind of a beta run by google?

Thanks in anticipation

You do not get signed up for any of the AdSense beta tests automatically. They will invite you to beta test, and you have to agree before they will make those changes to your account.

You might need to wait until Monday for a response from Google. There are a lot of factors that could be affecting it - perhaps it is picking keywords off your navigation instead of the content. Or there could be issues with targeting on a particular site for some reason - some have had success with contacting Google about this problem.
