Hi guys if you visit the US AppStore you will notice that safari based app blockers on the top 10 apps.

I'm waiting to see if Google Chrome would also announce support for these apps..

What are your views and how is it further affecting Adsense earnings?

These issues are currently discussed here [webmasterworld.com...] and here [webmasterworld.com...]

That iOS9 makes adblockers available is just one more aspect of these threads

I downloaded a few (Adblock, Crystal, Dolphin) to test functionality on my sites. My server picks them up and redirects as planned.

I messed around with these browsers a little. I didn't notice the faster loading times you see on Chrome and Firefox. It's probably a little faster but the improvement is not as pronounced. Just an observation, I didn't do any benchmark tests.

As far as the effect on Adsense earnings, I've no idea. iOS only makes up around 15% of my users anyway. I'll give it a week before I look at the metrics.

The Apple user is one I will be tracking as well. 16% for me on my image sites, two of which run a single adsense per page.

As a result, one developer has withdrawn his app because it "just doesn't feel good":

Achieving this much success with Peace just doesn’t feel good, which I didn’t anticipate, but probably should have. Ad blockers come with an important asterisk: while they do benefit a ton of people in major ways, they also hurt some, including many who don’t deserve the hit.

He cites ghostery as being an adblocker
I still believe that ad blockers are necessary today, and I still think Ghostery is the best one

Except it isn't an adblocker..it is a tracker blocker..it blocks some ads( those whose purpose is not so much ad serving but tracking ), but not all, as that is not it's "raison d'etre"..
Other than that..his app..his choice..

2013: Makes six figures selling Instapaper (an app that stores content made by other people).
2015: Makes $US100,000 in two days with Peace (an app that demonetises content made by other people).

No irony there.

The Times recently wront an article about ad blocking that is a huge concern for online publishers . The report says ad blocking could cost online publishers almost $22 billion in ad revenue this year alone.

They missed the discussions mentioned above by Tangor that were started last August 10: [webmasterworld.com...] and the later one here: [webmasterworld.com...] but those discussions are not limited to iOS adblocker apps.

Ad blockers have been around for quite awhile, they are relatively new to the AppStore.
