Understanding a "Views" report in adsense

When I look at a performance report of my last two months and I view the report in the "Views" tab I'm seeing a massive drop in impressions and earnings from August the 1st onwards.

Can anyone tell me if this is due to recent changes in how the performance reports are shown?

Is the drop simply due to a change in the metrics displayed from the 1st of August onwards?

Thank you for any help.

What about your traffic? Has it been the same, or has it dropped as well? Did you check your Analytics?

My traffic hasn't changed which is why I'm not understanding what I'm seeing. When I look at the same time period but viewed via a different tab (say "Overview" or "Clicks") my earnings and impressions are in line with my site's traffic stats and what I would expect to see.

The drop I'm seeing under the "View" tab is severe and occurs exactly on August 1st which makes me think that was the day Adsense implemented the New Adsense Performance Reports discussed in a different thread?

If you look right above that tab you'll see it says:

Fliter: Bid Types CPM Bids

So those are the impressions that were bid on a CPM basis. Click on another tab and you'll see that the filter parameter changes.

Thanks jpch...okay I see that...in that case, given that my traffic and earnings for the 1st of August were pretty much the same as the day before, does the huge drop off in the impressions that were bid on a CPM basis basically mean that a significant advertiser on my site stopped bidding?

Is there anything I can do about a drop like this? Does it even matter if the CPC Bids remain stable?

Sorry if these are rookie questions.

Maybe, maybe not. It could mean that CPM advertiser is still biding but they were outbid by another type of ad or it could mean they dropped off and the CPM ads were replaced by other types of ads.

The easiest metric I've used over the years to figure out what I'm going to do with AdSense ads (how many, placement, size...and every other variable you can think of) is to simply look at Page RPM.

Thank you jpch, that's a real help. There are way too many metrics and reports for me to get tangled up in.
