Should I switch to Adsense India from UK in order to earn more?

Hi,
I am an Indian living in the United Kingdom as a student. Majority of my blog's visitors are Indian. I recently noticed that I get paid more when somebody from the USA or UK clicks on my ad, whereas when an Indian clicks on any of the ads, I just get paid few pence. My Adsense account is linked to my UK bank account. Should I switch to Adsense India so that I can receive money in my Indian bank account and earn more or would the earnings remain the same?

Thanks and regards,
Rohan Dhawan

Hi Rohan, first of all Welcome to WebmasterWorld!

I switched with AdSense from the Netherlands to Kazakhstan some years ago and that switch didn't have one single cent effect on the earnings. AdSense earnings are solely based on advertiser pricing and visitor and site characteristics, not on the location of the bank account of the AdSense account holder.

The small differences you may notice though are due to currency conversion rates and bank costs applied to the payments.

There might also be slight modifications of the ToS and signup procedure of AdSense applying to you depending of the local laws of the country of registration, like the way taxes and tax documentation are handled.

I wouldn't consider moving with your AdSense account to India, unless you plan to go back to India again and your country of residence changes. If your country of residence changes, you can just request an address and country change for your current account and subsequent payments will then be issued to your new country.

Nope, I have several Indian domains and I also have many Indian visitors.

If I have US/UK visitors to my Indian sites I get a much higher CPC, if I get Indian visitors to my US/UK sites I get a much lower CPC.

There's nothing, insofar as I am aware, that you can do about it.
