Long time since I have posted but I hope I can get some good advice and clarity on this.

Over the last few years I developed some Google Play apps which basically opened up, via an affiliate link, the retailers mobile website.

This worked well for about 24 months, so well in fact that the retailers in the end released their own apps and dumped me from the programme !

I have taken down the apps from the market, but of course there are all the people that have already installed the app onto their device. So now, I have a whole bunch of traffic sitting there wasted. Around 60k uniques a month.

So my thought is this. Try an monetise the traffic by redirecting it to good quality responsive website pages with a couple of Adsense units on.

My concern though is would this spook Big-G and raise suspicions. The traffic is 100% good and genuine and I am a long standing publisher (14 years) with a clean history.

In theory, it should not be an issue. Good traffic + good content.

Any comments ?

I don't do apps, so I don't really know, but it *sounds* like something that would be against TOS. Can't you just put the ad in the app itself?

Since the app is no longer available to new users, you would have no way to alter the app, is that correct? Does it allow for push updates, or would that need to go through Google Play? I know nothing of app management.

Is there not another merchant that could be promoted on the landing page? I'm assuming there is a landing page you control if you can redirect its traffic.

not2easy You are right on all counts.

I cannot find any similar merchants to promote instead although I am still looking as yes that would be the best solution
