Can anyone tell me more about this? When my RPM goes up, page views go down and vice versa. This is historical over a decade plus. It seems very strange. My RPM has been exceptionally high the past several days and page views are down by 50%.

That's normal isn't it?
Page views up, rpm down, whenever I get anyone looking at loads of info or images this happenes to me, Google likes to think it's smart targetting, it isn't, it's stingy people not interested in clicking!

If I add more content, it doesn't always translate into more visitors. With the same number of users but more pageviews, then the users start to see repeat ads. If they clicked once, then they won't click again on the same ad. If they didn't click when they first saw the ad, then they probably won't when they see it again. So more pageviews but about the same number of clicks decreases RPM.
