Making your custom channels targetable

I was in cleaning up my custom channels today and saw that over time I had created many new custom channels where I had not turned on making them targetable.

I was just wondering if anyone out there saw any positives or negatives (or is it a null) to making a custom channel targetable?

None of the advisors I had ever talked to had pointed out that it was not set up with some of my custom channels, so I am kind of thinking it does not really do much.

Not really, but I always make at least one custom channel per page targetable, because it doesn't cost me anything but a couple of seconds to do and you never know.

Also, if you want to make your ads available to advertisers to purchase directly from your site (using AdSense Direct), you'll need to make them targetable.
