Would a disclaimer be allowed.

A well-known Internet community that generates a high volume of bandwidth each month is contemplating using Adsense to generate some income to defray hosting expenditures.
30 to 50 of the ruling circle have an aversion to anything commercial, but realize that this would be an unobtrusive but still are insisting on a disclaimerof:
"I suggest that we run a link next to any
text ads of this type that explains what we're doing, and that our
members do not necessarily use or recommend the services/products
promoted in the ads."

As you know google has a directive about intentives:
"Incentives
Web pages may not include incentives of any kind for users to click on ads. This includes labeling the ads as sponsors as well as asking users to click on the ads or to please visit the sites."

It is my opinion that Google would frown on and never even accept this kind of disclaimer.

What say ye...

In this hypercommercial world, the disclaimer:
"Ads by google..."
Seems to be plenty. Everyone knows that an advertisement is a statement made from a particular point of view. Everyone knows that advertisements are placed to make money. What more really needs to be said?

I'd e-mail AdSense support on this one. I don't think that a comment of "sites advertised are not endorsed by forum.com" (or something similar) would violate the wording of the AdSense TOS. You're not saying that they are sponsors, nor are you encouraging anyone to frivolously click.

Just my $.02

I'd be willing to put money on it that Google won't go for it. I certainly don't think they should. They don't want anything bringing attention to the ads that could cause someone to click that wouldn't otherwise.
