And back down it goes. Yesterday just closed with a click count and earnings of only about 1/6 of what it was the day before. I've had a few freakishly low days this month: May 1, 14 and 17. Can't help but wonder if the big spike on May 29 was just an accounting adjustment. Anybody else seeing same?
My low days were May 3, 11 and 21. And yes freakishly low. There were some fairly strong days this month but non that were freakishly strong. Generally, traffic is down (mostly because I extended my blocking activities to virtually all non-North American traffic just prior to the beginning of the month). All-in-all, not a bad month given the circumstances.
Spent most of the month working on a major redesign to optimize both mobile and desktop layouts. Got the important page speed reports over 90/100 and User Experience reports are now coming in at 100/100. Been trimming fat and bulking up the content everywhere possible.
These new text ads were a bit of a disaster for me given the way I was using them before the square arrows came along. Modified layouts have made them much more tolerable visually and their effectiveness is on the rise again. I'm using more Display ads generally too and finding a nice little bump in CPM revenue I've never really had before. CPM is of course only a tiny fraction of overall revenue but it's becoming significant enough to take notice and mostly from ad slots on pages which were never highly productive anyway.
Mobile design, from scratch (no CMS) was a real challenge over the last year with a great many trials and errors along the way. I'm happy to say that I'm finally VERY happy with the result and feel I can finally stop coding and scripting and focus more on content which is my primary interest anyway. I'm looking forward to a great summer. Out and about with the camera, keeping a pulse on the local scene. Adding my thoughts to the 7 million pages I manage and generally enjoying what I do for a living. Anyway, I thought a few positive vibes might be welcome about now.
