How does AdSense Do Business?

I am very impressed with Adwords since I do a lot with them and have a very proactive rep.

However, after struggling today to make a simple email address changed on my AdSense account, I realized I could not do it manually and emailed AdSense. I understand why they have the security, it protects someone from stealing my money.

Anyway, I just got an email response from Adsense that I needed to give them:

- The email address currently associated with your account
- The email address you'd like to use as your new account email address
- The date of the first day your account registered AdSense impressions
- The number of impressions registered on your first day of impressions

OK, so that seems not too hard so I tried to log in to my Adsense account that I had successfully been in 8 hours earlier. Guess what? Can't log in. Says I have no membership. My account is clean, never been any trouble. Is this just their super secure way of handling things? How do they expect me to get into my account to get them the info they want?

Guess I just hate jumping through hoops. However, at the same time, I appreciate any company looking out for my interests. Just seems sometimes they do not always think things through logically.

Ok, my stupidity reigns.

They sent me that canned email but went ahead and changed my email account to the new email I sent them anyway. Argh...

glenv,
Based on your experience, we should email Google to ask for permission and requirements before we disclose our new email address if we need to change the existing email.

What is your update on this matter?

No , I think what happened is the rep from AdSense, recognized me after the fact, that is after she sent me the email, and changed my email without the confirmation. Just a cross in email communications.
