I'm sure by now you all know what I am referring to. These are hands down the worst ad format/user experience for ads that I've ever seen by Google. Is there some HUGE vision impaired user demographic I'm not aware of? Seriously, this text ad version is awful Google. Get rid of it already.

You can turn them off.

Really? How? I only run text ads because for my industry text ads WAY outperform all other formats. Also, the second I turn off enhanced text ads CTR drops dramatically. So I appreciate your suggestion, but there is NOT a way to turn off the ridiculous 90x90 square ads AND keep enhanced text ads on. Google should just look at the data and know that this format is terrible in every way. You know HOW I know it's terrible for the majority of people? Because they only turn this version on once in a blue moon. They DO NOT know how to test. It's unacceptable and I'm sick of it.

Allow & Add Blocks > Ad Serving > Enhanced text ads – show performance-enhancing features on text ads.

That is the only way.

Yes. But as I explained that is really not an option. I would STRONGLY advise against anyone doing this. I've tested it - it will only make results worse. Appreciate you trying to be helpful though.

I answered your original question. You changed the goalposts.

I too have tested it, but if you really don't like them - and I don't either - then you have to turn the whole lot off. Until Google alters it, we have to put up with one or the other.

Actually I did not originally ask how to turn them off because I already knew you couldn't and keep all other text ads the same. Helpful info you shared for others not as reliant on text ads, but again my post was originally just a vent. But thanks.
