as usual, i check my earnings a few times a day, as i'm sure most do

the last week, they have been so eratic

i mean, i check at 10 am, $x, then check at 1pm $ all but disappeared

i also note, the clicks have also decreased each time they reduce the $

now, am i under attack, or is someone trying to cause me problems, or, could it be this has only started since i posted in the google help forums, along with my website link etc to get help last week

their so called helpers (volunteers ) tried to ream me a new pair of pants ? and are now finding other ways to be unhelpful ?

i think the latter

given my site has been around for quite a few years, and this all happens in the above time frame, well, i just expected it

in any case, it seems google is removing whatever clicks they deem unnecessary, so should i attempt a contact, or just see what happens

thanks
mikey

Or maybe GAdwords changed their bidding interface again and advertisers are accidentally (or being defaulted to) bidding $5 when they meant to bid $.05 and G is allowing them to back out, because they know it is a design flaw.
I've also been seeing a lot more of the old high-paying M-word ads in the last week or two showing up everywhere which might have something to do with it.
I've been noticing the exact same thing as the original poster with 10 times the traffic mentioned, which is why I came in today. All during the day this last week I noticed up and down movement and even after the end of day I noticed a 18% downward 'correction' last night.

I just put a Chitika 550x250 ad at the bottom of most of my pages. I should know in several days how they are performing, but I'm very happy with the targeting - much better than Google's ad targeting on my site. If this ad works out fairly well, I will be replacing the other Adsense ads on my page with Chitika. They have some GORGEOUS ads that I'm sure will appeal to my visitors.

I have just signed up for this on one of my other websites that hasn't got Google AdSense. I haven't really got as far as going to my dashboard yet, I'll do that later. However, how easy did you find signing up, you have to wait to be accepted, or can you start earning money straight away?

Ironside, the signup is very easy. You can begin earning money immediately. It is next-day reporting, so you won't be able to see the results immediately.

I decided to check Chiti out too. I cant say I'm impressed at all with their "ads". We get many extremely well targeted text and graphic ads with Adsense, whereas all I see coming up on Chit is "6 Results for... (whatever keywords I searched to get to our page)" followed by 6 large text links, presumably to search results. Can't click on them to see where they go. As I understand from reading elsewhere, they use the keywords used to get to your page to target ads, so if someone comes from another page on your site, or type in the url direct, they serve no ads at all? Not sure if that is true.

I must admit I'm not convinced at the moment either. There doesn't seem to be a way to completely customise the ads. You can change text and background colour, but that's about all. I've left mine as is, according to the example of what they will look like, I'm quite happy with it. However, I can't say I'm not impressed with how they look on my website. Anyway, I've just put them on mom website at the moment, the website that got banned from AdSense, so are not really losing anything.

I was thinking about putting a couple on my other website, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to mix AdSense and the ones from this site, does anybody know? I suppose as long as they are not on the same page is okay

Check this out, this is what it looks like someone of my pages. I only put them on last night and according to the report, I had 41 impressions, no clicks they. I have implemented them on a few more pages so let's see what happens tomorrow.

@MikeNoLastName - Yes that's true, they will serve ads just on search engine referred visitors. Not sure if that's the case all the time, I used them for a while and that's what I saw. No ads on direct URL or refresh (hope I'm not mistaken on this one).

I just tested myself and you won't earn money when people click on the ads themselves, only when they start clicking on ads once they leave your website. Anyway, I'll give it six months and if I haven't earned when I would consider the right amount for that particular website I will move onto something else

You guys are going really off-topic here, start a new thread. As in, I'm interested in your discussion but this isn't the right place :)

@rannans It sounds like you are being hit by amazonaws bots. There is a thread here about it.
