Ad Sense Page View seem way off Help!?

2:18 am on Sep 14, 2013 (gmt 0)

I read all the FAQ, and even this page:

Today I noticed:

AdSense: 17,000 page view for the month of Sept
Google Analytics: 43,000 page view for the month of Sept

I understand there are bots/ad blocker/javascript disabled.. etc..
but a 50% drop seem like I'm doing something wrong?

Both AdSense and GA both use javascript which typically isn't run by bots except for those making screenshots, etc. If some crawler were making screen shots of all your pages they would probably register in GA and possibly not in AdSense because those page views are invalid.

Other bots and crawlers won't register in either AdSense or GA because they do nothing but read the page, they don't run javascript.

It's also possible you've got a traffic source that AdSense deems invalid. Could you see anything obvious in GA that wouldn't be valid for AdSense?

Might not be the correct answer but it's the best I've got.

I would also check for double analytics code.

Do you have server-side stats as well? If so, compare to them.

Thanks for the replies guys, it turns out Levo was correct. I had the GA codes twice on my header.php -- I'm guessing that was the problem? unless you guys tell me that couldn't be the issue?

rr212 are you using responsive ad or async ad code? Google adsense is counting them wrong right now. I did track it by making custom channel and they are definitely counting them differently.
