Visitors bored of the same adsense ads?

Hi has it happened to you where repeat visitors will not click on the same adsense ads all the time?

Or, the advertisor's money has run out resulting in low CPM?

What can be done besides addition of fresh content all the time? thanks, born2run

I've seen the same problem with one of the sites I operate. This site gets many many repeat visits as it's a community type site. The only way I've managed to deal with it so far is to block the main offenders URL's.

Sorry, that term probably came across with a different meaning to that which I was intending. I meant those ads which are untargetted and show constantly in place of better performing ads. I find this normally happens when an image ad takes the place of text ads and is then shown on nearly every page of the site.

You can disable image ads in the AdSense control panel. Maybe that would be worthwhile in your situation.

Indeed but I've seen that when image ads are targetted correctly they get a much better performance, although I agree that some sites would be better off with image ads off.

You can also selectively allow image ads on some pages and not others, if you are finding a problem with the same image ad across an entire site.

I believe that Jenstar means you can either opt-in or out of image ads with each block of adsense code that you use. Unfortunately for those of us that run dynamic sites this generally isn't possible.

Not on their own but in Ad Settings, under Ad Type, you can choose from

- Use my default account settings OR
- Text Ads only on this page OR
- Text and image ads on this page
