Blacklist Notice

Are there any actions I should take?

My adsense account now shows a red bar with the following notice:

One or more of your sites has been blacklisted due to violation of AdSense policies. View details... (I have listed these below)

There are several sites listed on the details page which I have never owned. Additionally, I have always had site authorization enabled on my account (so that this issue would not occur).

Most of the sites were blacklisted due to adult content. Of course I do not care that the sites are blacklisted, but I am alarmed that they have somehow been associated with my account. Once again, i never authorized these sites, and site authorization has always been enabled.

Thank you in advance for any advice on any steps I should take to inform Google of this issue.

Here is the full notice which was followed by the list of sites and blacklist notice dates (I never received any of these actual notices, which are listed back as far as 2011).

Details of notice:

Google monitors the sites that AdSense ads appear on to ensure they comply with our program policies. We have identified the following violations on your sites. Please note that this represents only the violations that we have currently identified. You are responsible for ensuring that your properties comply with our policies at all times. We suggest that you regularly review all your sites for compliance. For more information regarding our policy notifications, visit our Help Center.

Perhaps one or more of your sites was hacked. But you probably should try to contact AdSense support first, if you are eligible.

I never received any of these actual notices, which are listed back as far as 2011

Wouldn't this imply that the problem is not in the sites themselves, but in the account information linking you to them?

My guess is the sites scraped content and ended up displaying my adsense code somewhere.

Here is the automated response from policy violations troubleshooting. Should I read this to mean I do not need to report even though they have reported the sites to me as blacklisted?...

Are you able to sign in to your AdSense account? Knowing this will help us determine whether you are experiencing an issue with your entire account, or specific sites.Yes

Do you own the URL noted in the policy notification you received? No

If a site or URL displaying your ad code is not in the Allowed sites list in your account, no further action is needed and this issue won't negatively affect your account in any way.

Again - if your account is still open, and you are eligible for support (i.e. you average $25/week or more) then you need to contact them, because they're the only ones who will be able to deal with it.
