Traffic from countries facing trade sanctions

This question is quick and simple: Are users from countries such as Iran and Cuba shown AdSense ads? Do they see a public service message? A white block?

I'm asking because a site I run has recently become popular in Iran but actual traffic numbers do no coincide with AdSense pageviews.

I would presume ( that it is displayed ) so, because at least one member here who runs adsense is from Iran..
I can't see how they'd manage their site if not..

Perhaps they will stop by and enlighten us ..

Iran definitely is shown ads since I have regular visitors from there and clicks. Insofar as Cuba is concerned my charts show Page Views but no clicks however the click volume is very low.

Also according to my charts I have had visitors from 207 countries when the "official" number is supposedly 196.

I don't know how these trade sanctions are supposed to work because in my industry there are a lot of Iranian products exported to the USA!

In the case of Iran, I see nothing in my account that suggests they are even viewing any ads except for a very small trickle.

There were over 3000 of them yesterday and at least 2400 viewed pages with ad code. 16 ad views.

You're behind the times. This week, Iran is good and Iraq is bad.

Cuba is in a category all by itself. So, in theory, is North Korea-- but in their case it doesn't matter because they're not on the internet.

Correction: Largely not on the Internet.

I had 13 visitors from North Korea in 2011. Each of them were interested in a particular forum thread about soccer.
