My main traffic is from South America and Central America. 95% of it.
And they don't care about the Superbowl.
However, February is the month that Google: 1. Makes new experiments. 2. Present new features on Adsense (or start preparing them). 3. New rules on algorithmic changes on its search engine. 4. Low budget from advertisers (which I find it odd, since in the last couple of years, Latin America started to invest on online advertisement). 5. Google's dog ate its homework. (any excuse for paying less is valid). :P
I don't know if you are feeling this? In the past couple of days, my Adsense stats have gone crazy. AT the past 2 days, at the morning it goes well, then at the afternoon, visits and clicks get lower and lower (when it is usually the best part of the day), then at the night, the stats start working again normally.
Today, I feel a different trend. Awful day. And just a couple of hours ago, the numbers begin raising.
Very poor day yesterday for both of the websites I manage; significant drop in CTR due to Google pushing image/rich media ads aggressively. Also, saw a HUGE drop in Interest Based ads which historically do the best for me.
I realize I am probably the only person in this forum with this problem but I mention it in case it is affecting anyone else. I was looking into settings in my AdSense acct yesterday, setting up for a new domain and found that some ads had been disabled. No notice, if I hadn't been looking at the colors settings I would never know. The ads have been showing just fine, no idea how long they were "disabled". The reason: I had not configured any color for the visited links for custom search engines. I'm not using custom search engines. Some of my ad configurations go back several years, I update the code when I add a new ad or make changes. I have no idea how long I had this disabled ad showing on my site without letting me know it was "disabled". It does explain some weirdness that wasn't making sense. Sneaky devils.
For some reason, after a few of weeks of unusually low revenues, things seem to be back to somewhat normal levels. I haven't done much different, although I did take Google's advice and replace a 250 x 250 ad with a 300 x 250 one which has been a good change. CTR has been fairly stable throughout, but CPC had dropped, espcially for the USA, and now has recovered fairly well.
Is everyone making so much they fear banjaxing their earnings by posting?
For me everything seems to be so far behind these days that nothing makes sense until the following day. Sunday's tablet earnings were way off average at 18.9% and easily my worst tablet day of the year, PVs were normal for a Sunday.
