I posted earlier about blocking Google's Ads from showing as they were constant and they were the only reason I could think of that my CTR had plummeted. So I blocked google.com/.co.uk/.ca etc.
CPC has dropped from a 3-month average of £0.71 to £0.16 for the past 5 days since putting in the block.
My CTR is up dramatically since blocking Google's own ads, but with the lowered CPC ... it means I'm now worse off.
Has anyone else seen a CPC drop after blocking Google's ads from showing? Has anyone else ever blocked Google's "Buy Adwords" ads?
Obviously considering how easy it is to make Google have a tantrum either in Organic search, Paid search or Adsense -- that's my first impression of the cause.
P.S. the site in question is a weight loss site so I can't imagine that buying Google Adwords was the best and most relevant choice of ad display to begin with. the high CPC pre-dates the problem I had with Google's ads showing for everyone anyway.
