I added some prominent affiliate links the other day, and my AdSense earnings plunged.

I've noticed the same thing happening before.

Maybe it's just a coincidence. I wondered if anyone else has seen the same thing.

Were your affiliate links successful?

Was it your clicks that plunged, or just the earnings?

Anytime you have too many distractions, that's going to make a difference.

If you ad affiliate links to a page, naturally your Adsense earnings on said page will go down, as now people may be clicking your new affiliate links instead.

What you should be looking at is total earnings.

If affiliate links + adsense on same page > Adsense on page

you're doing well.

If affiliate links + adsense on same page < adsense on page.

switch back.

Sometimes affiliate links on page with no adsense > other mixes.

It depends on said page, topic, buying mode of visitor, etc.

If I use adsense on an affiliate page I put them toward the bottom of the page. More money can be made with affiliate commission but if they don't click, then at least I get a few pennies income form G.
