It has PIP at the bottom in the adsense account but at the top it says issued on the 23rd. Normally its in the account 2/3 days after issue date, but its now January 3rd and payment still isn't in my account. I know its been the holiday period with Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day and Bank Holiday yesterday, all of which were non business days so the banks were closed, but there were several days in between which were usual business days (27th till the 30th of December), enough time for payment to have received by the bank.

I have always had payments received before the end of the month, usually by the 27th or the 28th.

Have you tried contacting your bank to see if the payment is in the pipeline?

23rd was a Friday, 24th and 25th the weekend so no bank movements. 26th and 27th were Bank Holidays (in the UK any way) so still no bank movements. That delays the whole process by four days for starters. Then another weekend after three working days and then New Years Day.

It has PIP at the bottom in the adsense account but at the top it says issued on the 23rd.

The payment issued date at the top of of the page gets set when the PIP occurs - not when it is finalized.
Normally the payment details at the bottom of the Payments page will change from "Payment in Progress" to "Payment issued" within 24 hours of a PIP (or maybe the next business day).
So there is clearly a problem with the transfer from Google to your bank account. Maybe Google decided to claw it back at the last minute for whatever reason.

Does anyone know how I can contact the Adsense support about this?

[accounts.google.com...]

Or, try the Adsense forum as that is about the only place where Google employees help out.

I am figuring its something to do with Google's automated payment mechanism. I have been an adsense publishers now for 6 years and never has payment been delayed once in that time.

Got a message from Adsense in my adsense account to update payment because ETF transfer failed.

It says this particular bank account is no longer eligible for EFT payments. I really cannot understand why because my bank is fully functional and they haven't made any changes that I am aware of that might exclude it from accepting payments. I know I have an alternatives of either changing my account or accepting payment via cheque (check), but cannot see why deposit failed.

Ask your bank.
