I checked this morning and yesterdays earnings were X amount. Checked hours later, and yesterday's earning went up quite a bit. Checked a minute ago, and back down to X amount? I have never seen previous day earnings fluctuate. Is this common?

Those figures do not represent your earnings, they represent your estimated earnings. Differences in the estimated and final earnings are generally from issues such as delays in reporting from different databases/servers, rounding differences and invalid click corrections.
Don't know what it's like now, but the differences in how fast updates happened between the different databases was more pronounced in the morning hours, which would show strange reports such as more clicks than impressions. Of course, there weren't more clicks than impressions, it was simply that the data sources for the control panel reports were out of sync. In the example above, the impression figures were updated slower than the click figures were.

This is the first time I'm seeing the estimated earnings for the prior day go up, down, up, then down again. Now it's staying down. Thanks.
