I read this forum about once a week and it's very helpful on days when you think you're going nuts and you med x amount.

Quick question, is it against TOS to say how much you made on a particular day?

It seems like people are scared to say "I made $150 today and it's usually $450".

Since we dont know these people or their sites is that against TOS or risky? Just curious because all i hear is down 20% or up 40% which is usually relatively meaningless to most of us.

Thanks

I wouldn't state exact amounts, if I wanted to give out that info at all.

If I did want to be that specific, and using the numbers you gave, I'd be more likely to say something like...

"My income dropped from the $400 - 500.00 range to the $100 - 200.00 range."

I doubt that would be a TOS violation, but I don't work for Google, so .... who knows. (Actually I doubt it would be easy to find 2 G employees that would have matching opinions on this).

On the other hand, I don't think I've ever stated how much I make from AdSense, other than to say it beats flipping burgers at a fast food joint.

You can disclose revenue amounts but not CTR (and therefore probably not RPM) under the confidentiality clause of the TOS:
7. Confidentiality. You agree not to disclose Google Confidential Information without Google's prior written consent. "Google Confidential Information" includes without limitation: (a) all Google software, technology, programming, specifications, materials, guidelines and documentation relating to the Program; (b) click-through rates or other statistics relating to Property performance in the Program provided to You by Google; and (c) any other information designated in writing by Google as "Confidential" or an equivalent designation. However, You may accurately disclose the amount of Google’s gross payments to You pursuant to the Program. ...

Ok ... Last month I earned a n o t h e r million Dollars from AdSense:-)))

Now you know why I'm pi$$ed off!

I'm not even looking-up their T&Cs other than to write that giving percentages or approximations has never been a problem.

For those people who do not understand why some of us post in percentages it is a direct relative comparison.

It matters not whether someone's earnings are $10/100/1,000/10,000 a day. A site(s) with a stable income that suddenly sees wild fluctuations outside of their norm can express such deviations.

Let me write this from my own examples:

For years my daily earnings were within a 90-110% range of average (100% if you were wondering!), occasionally, at the most a couple of times a month, it went to 80-120%.

This last year, and especially since Panda 2.1 in May, I have seen my daily average vary between 50-150%, and also bear in mind that Panda 2.1 slashed my earnings to an average of 45% of what it had been for several months...plus my real traffic has actually not changed much...hmmm...I see a 55% slice taken away yet at the same time Google report increased profits...even my wife understands this bit!

Plus you really do not want to know what I used to earn in a % comparison...unless you want to cry!
