I am moving a site into a newly designed layout. Google ads are now only showing sometimes. I've researched till I'm at the point of pulling out my hair.

It works here:
<snip>

I moved it out of the text area and tried it here and it stops it from working:
<snip>

Soon as I add the text - they disappear leaving only the colored table I put it in.

Please help! TIA

It could be the fact that AdSense hasn't spidered the new pages - it is not always instantaneous, you may have to wait a couple hours. Or you might have stop words on the page that are preventing ads from showing up.

More about stop words here [google.com]

May be because there is a "stop" word on the page, such as "death" or "kill" or whatever. Google doesn't publish such a list so it's impossible to know but you can run some tests by eliminating potentially sensitive words and seeing if that fixes the problem.

I have no stop words. I'm copying from the old design to the new. I'm thinking it has something to do with everything I have running on that site. I have google ads and an adrevenue program running in 1 SSI tag. One adrevenue program in another. Several javascript tags - but nothing new.

It would make sense that the new page hasn't been spidered yet. I didn't know that google worked that way.?

The first google ad would continue to work since I created that SSI tag last week.

I'm just at a loss. It's really weird.

I just created an exact copy of the page that IS working and the new page (with no new text added) is not showing the ads.

It's not making sense.... Ugggh!

Thanks for your help.

Could be a conflict with other advertising scripts (note that it is against the AdSense terms to run a competitive contextual advertiser on the same page as AdSense).

Also, if it is second or third ad units that are having the issue, it can sometimes take a few days for ads to show in the second and third units (if there is inventory available).
