Hi there,

I have a site in Spain relating to property and I have around 50,000 pageviews a month.

Would it be worth my while to add Google Adsense to my site and if so what profit could I expect from this?

Also, if I should add it, should it be to just the front page or to the search results and details page of each property aswell?

I´m relatively new to this, so any guidance will be of great help to me.

Thanks in advance.

Spainman.

Hi Spainman,
Welcome to WebmasterWorld.

IIRC, your site will have to be at least 6 months old to be able to have adsense.

Read the TOS thoroughly and cross-check that with your site. Once you are happy that you "fit the bill" you can apply for it.

As for earnings, no-one can tell.

If accepted, you will have to update your privacy policy.

I never put adsense on the homepage, but it is up to you.

A rough figure for earnings I have seen mentioned here, and one that I would agree with, is 1 cent per visitor.

Against that you have to judge whether Adsense may reduce the apeal of your site.

I do very well with AdSense.
If I received 1 cent per visitor, I would jump for joy.

Closer to .8 cent per visitor, IMHO, using only one ad block per page.

Google AdSense always wants me to use 3 ad blocks per page, but then, the visitor experience is far more "spammy". Each webmaster must decide for himself, the proper balance between page appearance vs. begging for money.

If a "Quality Rater" from Google Search sees 3 ad blocks at the top of your page, woe is you - you can receive a deranking penalty, according to the recently leaked internal guidance document.

IMHO, pleasing the Google Search Team, is far more important than pleasing the Google AdSense Team. Since they don't speak to each other. Without a good ranking, you won't make ANY money, because no one will see your page.

If you try Adsense, just make sure you follow all TOS carefully.

Thanks to all for the replies. You´ve given me good points to study before going ahead with Adsense.

Thanks again.
