Anyone got any ideas where this came from or what it is about?

[edit reason] No specifics please, as per TOS [/edit]
I do think the email campaign is pretty poorly done though - using the "standard" AdSense page as the landing page is a big mistake too IMO. It's a a bit like sending AdWords traffic to your home page!
1) Phishing. The site you end up at might be a copy of G, not the real thing, and at some point you get the message "Thank you. To receive your $50 bonus please enter your credit card details..."
2) Someone with a grudge against G sending spam to get them swamped with irate customers yelling "Where's my $50"?
Either way I wouldn't touch it.
The email was in plain text too, otherwise I would have checked for anything hidden. It just had the one link/URL pointing to the supposed page.
One thought I did have: after checked the web site of the sender (sorry, mods removed it from my first post) it goes to a mailer software's homepage. Maybe, by faking Adwords/Google as a customer, they hoped that (like me) people would check out the third party software Google were using. A customer like that would certainly lend credibility to the software.
Now the bigger question, how in the hell did they get my email address and know that I had an Adsense/Adwords account? Google selling off its mail addresses? I think I'd better go check those terms and conditions again ....

This is my biggest concern too.
