Hi,

We all know that day to day earnings can fluctuate a great deal. I was thinking that a helpful thread could be a look back at the previous month and comment on changes that you have made.

For example my earnings September 2011 vs previous month (or September 2010) went up/down. During this time I changed the ad size or type.

There are many post in the "Month AdSense Earnings & Observations" regarding the daily earnings but few people mention if they changed anything.

This will (hopefully) provide all of us more data, confidence and ideas on what to change.

/////
Last month I increased the number of leader board ads and changed all formats to image/text.

My over all earnings for September 2011 were up when compared to both previous month and September 2010

My Sept 2011 earnings were 127% of Sept 2010 earnings.

Between these two earning periods I:

1. Removed all but two ad units and Google Custom Search.
2. Separated ads from content
3. I went from text only ads to text/image
4. My two remaining ad units are both above the fold. One is a leaderboard at the top of the site. The other is to the righ of the site's content

Before I made this change there was no top ad below the banner and the sidebar was on the left rather than the right.

Sept 2011 v 2010 was 43.54%

No changes have been made since I wouldn't know what to change! It would be pointless since the Panda slashed me, nothing else, some sites are still earning the same, some more, a couple of them considerably less.

It's the Panda what did it Governor! Hehehe...and I do not pander to Google:-)

For six months I've had no more than 2 ads per page, above the fold, with text/image enabled. Things still dropped considerably over the last 3 months, when traffic has increased 9.7%.
