Hello,
We’re constantly reviewing the categories of ads available to our AdSense publishers in order to provide access to a wide range of possible advertisers. Towards this goal, beginning on 11 October, we’re expanding the inventory of Google ads eligible to show on the AdSense network to include gambling-related ads from trusted advertisers.
•Gambling: Includes online gambling and location-based gambling. Gambling ads will only serve in regions permitted by law. In addition, when you opt in, only visitors from your country will see gambling ads, and they’ll only see the types of gambling ads permitted by law.
Details
These gambling-related categories are already allowed on the Google Display Network except where disallowed by law:
◦Financial spreadbetting
◦Contests/sweepstakes
◦Location-based gambling
◦Fantasy sports
◦Offline gambling accessories
These gambling-related categories will potentially be allowed to run on your site when you opt in, depending on your country and the country in which the end-user is viewing your pages:
◦Bingo
◦Lotteries
◦Online casino games
◦Tips, odds, and handicapping
◦Education/supplemental materials
◦Bonus codes
◦Sports betting
Family status
Google assigns a family status to all ads to make sure that ads are shown to an appropriate audience. Please note that since we consider gambling-related products to be intended for adults, ads promoting online gambling will be given a Non-Family Safe status if they adhere to our policies. Ads promoting acceptable gambling-related products will be given a Family Safe status.
I never knew promoting gambling to children was "family safe" - what kind of gambling is acceptable for children?
Playing cards and poker chips.
