Adsense for images?

I noticed a site with adsense ads popping up over images in a slow scrolling motion, only when you scroll down far enough to see the entire image. the page had 20 images and all had an ad over them, with the typical x to close it off, all 20 showed a different ad.

Did I miss adsense for images or is this coming soon ?

edit: these ads were ON TOP of images, a la youtube design, not next to images.

Are you sure it was AdSense? A company called GumGum does exactly what you're talking about. The ad pops up on top of the bottom part of the image and mimics AdSense. Not sure if it's allowed by AdSense TOS, it looks sketchy so I didn't sign up.

If it is Pixazza, I think they're part of Google.

Found it, if anyone is interested. They are not part of Google Adsense program. You need separate account to get paid.

I wonder if you can do this using stock photos or if they have to be your own shots.
