Tips to increase earning

So many post about Panda, loss CTR, TOS etc, What about tips earn more.

Yeah, i like talking about doom and gloom, but what about the positive side.


What are some tip you are currently using to earn more?

What would you recommend new and existing publishers test to increase their earnings?

What things have you tried that are No No's when it comes to earnings?

How far have you come "me $0.98 cents on a good day to over $100"

let me start. The biggest tip i learned is to know your advertisers. Don't click their ads, but learn what they are about and what they offer. then tailor pages to attract them and help them monetize.

second tip is to block first ask questions later. if an ad seems off topic to you, block it. Don't gamble with you impressions. Remember each off topic impression "especially images" is a loss possible click".

Create three ad units of each unit you create, one for text, one for image + text, image only and choose their locations. I haven't found good success with images and text everywhere on my site. but i have found certain sections and page where they each work differently. As i create a page i look at it and decide text only, image only, or both. "i use majority text only"

Use link units. they are great below the fold last resort earners. Also search below the fold works too.

Use an adserver. an Adserver will increase your earning big time because of the flexible it offers.

Switch the look of ad zone on a single page. if you have 3 zone, make one blend, un blend the other, and call out the other.

On size doesn't fit all. I know some people are trapped with CMS system that put ad the same place on all page. i would advise against that. decide the layout of ad on a page by page basis. i have seen CTR increase 100% by custom fitting an ad to a certian pages' layout.

Side bar sucks, Below fold suck. don't waste impressions on the side of below the fold. put you ad in content where people HAVE to see them. remember you site isn't an non profit.

Don't over do it. because you can use 3 unit, doesn't mean you have to.

What are some tip you are currently using to earn more?

Getting users to visit my sites and find them useful to tell their friends and/or return often themselves.

Oh, and show them an AdSense or two for goods and services they might find useful while at it / done with it.

In the new adsense interface I see 3 advertisers that are always allowed. It gives me a number but no link to their ads. I have no way of knowing who or what site these numbers belong to, or how they became always accepted.

Not loving that.
