Panda washed away most of my AdSense earnings (a few thousand dollars per month). Years worth of income growth vanished in a blink. Will spend the next few days nursing my wounds with cold beers. My days of web publishing are probably over...
@Rockyou Quality content? One of my 200 page websites is the only source of information on it's subject in the world, yet it's outranked by a Yahoo Answers page that is currently unanswered. How am I going to out quality that?
Let's stop insulting panda bears. If this Google update is anything from the animal kingdom it's a 2 ton silverback gorilla strung out on crack cocaine. Or better yet let's just call it what it really is, a billionaire's ego trip as he regains the reins of his faded technology empire (got to make sure that he gets all of his scent on the internet tree stump). I certainly feel showered in piss right about now, how about you?
Wednesday went back to normal for me after Tuesday's data loss and would have been even better if something upstream from my server hadn't gone belly-up for an hour or so at my busiest time of day...if it's not G it's something else!
Exactly, I feel you so very much. This whole thing keeps me thinking that I should sell my business and just go back to a real job where at least I have peace of mind and constant salary from a government job rather than this ups and downs that can crush your life in a blink of an eye.
Please read my post, nothing to do with quality. This update has killed QUALITY. Don't get me started on that my friend.
Tuesday I had same earnings as always past few years but then Wed was again super super dead again loss in thousands of dollars what is going on?
I'm more and more convinced that not all clicks update in real time. I use statcounter on some sites, and it showed a bunch of clicks (exit links) over the week that didn't seem to get counted by AdSense. Then today I get some honking huge click dumps on sites where the numbers AND the ad sizes don't match up for today (they're higher in Google than in Statcounter) Yep. These are older clicks. But that's okay, I'll take 'em. And it's one more incentive for me not to look at stats on a day by day basis. There's such a thing as being TOO granular.

I've been convinced of this for some time. It certainly makes it hard to say earnings are up or down any particular day. The only way I can keep my blood pressure down is to step back and look at the week or better yet, the month.
