About a couple of weeks ago I was searching for a specific item. I found it and made a purchase.

I'd forgotten all about it until just now when visiting a site with adsense on it. The site showed ads for the search from a couple of weeks ago.

Today's site has nothing to do with the the topic of a cuople of weeks ago, so the ads were targeted at me, but were about two weeks too late.

Result: Adsense owner gets no clicks, advertiser gets no clicks.

What a shame, smart is not always so smart.

I'm off to clear cookies.

That's unfortunately how it works. A couple of years ago our refrigerator quit working and we had to quickly get a replacement. I did a little searching and we bought a new one that same afternoon. For the following two weeks I was constantly seeing refrigerator ads.

I just wanted to raise this issue again, especially when it was such a glaring mismatch.

It would have been better if the ads were targeted based upon the content, not on previous search history.

Adsense operators are losing out, advertisers are losing out, and google is losing out, imho.

I totally Disable Interest based ads on my main site.

It's so niched i only want those niched ads to show "even if i have less potential advertiser" On topic ad convert more then followed ads in my opinion
