300x250 display problem

I have a couple of 300x250 Adsense ads at the bottom of my main page that, ideally, I want to display side by side, but for some reason these two ads are starting to display one on top of the other, and centered. At first I had an invisible .gif as a spacer between them, but after this weirdness started happening I put about 10  's between them and it's still happening. Just wondering if anyone had an idea what could be causing this and if so how to correct it. This is starting to tic me off and if this doesn't stop I'm going to have to put a 728x90 leaderboard in the place of these two ads.

BTW, these ads are set up for both text and image but I'm only seeing this occur with the text ads (actually I haven't seen many 300x250 image ads at all lately).

Depending what browser you are using, this has happened for well over a year... maybe 2.

Floatleft or floatright one of the adverts via css.

Yeah I thought I'd seen it before at one of those sites that loads your site in a lot of different browsers, but now it's happening in my browser of choice.

Thanks for the CSS tip.
