I didnt see this mentioned in the faq. I am unsure how to know what to generally expect as far as what my profit of it all will be.

If a keyword shows 2.50 estimated cost per click in the keyword tool. What percent of that would be mine and how accurate is that currently?

Thanks

68% is what Google pays you but rarely based on the actual price the keyword tool reports. Many factors at play. Some get paid 1 cent for a $5 keyword for example, some get paid $2, some 20 cents. The more your keyword converts to the advertisers, the higher you will be paid.

If the keyword tool says $2.50, that's a very vague estimate of a site that's just starting out in search. Advertisers almost always pay significantly less than that once they have a good quality score. For the content network, bids are always a lot lower because conversions are so much lower, so you'll make even less.

I've seen people estimate that many sites are making about 1 cent per unique, organic search visitor.
