I'd like to challenge anyone with a traffic issue or low paying AdSense problem to:
PUT UP OR SHUT UP!

Of course that may sound a little harsh, but it's tough love, we'd really like to help more but we don't give site reviews in public on WebmasterWorld.

1. Join WebmasterWorld Supporters [webmasterworld.com] for at least 6 months.
2. Post your site in the REVIEW MY SITE! [webmasterworld.com] forum.
3. If the advice given and actually implemented doesn't increase your earnings in 30-60 days, keep asking people to take another look, you've got 6 full months!
4. If your site improves, come back and publicly post that WebmasterWorld site reviews were worth the price of admission!

The gauntlet has been dropped and you should pick it up and take the challenge.

The admission fee is small and the potential rewards far outweigh the fee.

Did I mention the Google SEO forum?

DISCLOSURE AND DISCLAIMER:
  • I'm a volunteer. I get no fees or payment of any form from WebmasterWorld with the minor exception of a few free beers at PubCon.
  • I've been a paying WebmasterWorld supporter since 2005
  • There is no express or implied warranty of any kind that any site review can improve the performance of your site.
  • Implementation of any site change suggestions is done "at your own risk" only basis and the outcome of any site changes solely the responsibility of the site owner.

Some of the site reviews in the Supporters forum are great, but the process can take weeks or monhs in some cases. Posters coming here are probably looking for more immediate help and suggestions.

Got trouble with AdSense?

First, take time to carefully reread the AdSense TOS.

Then take a careful look at the Heat Map [google.com].

Those two actions alone can solve a lot of issues.

Need more help?

Take time to write a well thought out question that clearly explains the situation. That goes for any forum you post in.

Hop over to the Content, Writing and Copyright [webmasterworld.com] forum and read up on developing and presenting good content.

If the drop in AdSense income is related to traffic levels there are other forums here that probably will be a better choice than the site review forum. For instance, if the traffic issue is with Google you might try the Google SEO News and Discussion Forum [webmasterworld.com]

Along with, if you can spare the cash, a subscription to the Supporters Forum might make sense.

Ken,

That's great advice for any website owner for day of the week.

Deserves it's own thread really!

Posters coming here are probably looking for more immediate help and suggestions.

It's not always that slow but those posts aren't on the active list which is why they're a little slower.

If an AdSense member posts for a review, I'll do as much as I can to make sure the process gets sped up

Consider this, some people go to expensive conferences and pay thousands just to get their sites reviewed by a panel of experts.

I've been on those panels, so have many other WebmasterWorld supporters and industry experts, and we give that advice freely in the supporters section.

Sure it's a paid area, but somebody has to pay to keep the lights on this forum, and I for one have been doing so for 6 years now.

Why?

As an example, one question answered in the FREE public Apache forum alone has saved me a day of grief and was worth more than the price of admission as it would've cost 3x or 4x in consulting time with some so-called IT guy to ultimately get the same solution.

Along with, if you can spare the cash, a subscription to the Supporters Forum might make sense.

IMO it's not "if you can spare the cash", it's an investment in an even deeper education which can generate a lot more spare cash if you can implement what you learn.

There's no GRQ (get rich quick) scheme, just solid advice from people really making money in this industry, willing to share advice so that others may do the same.

Basically, the reason I first joined WebmasterWorld and the reason I'm still here after all those years.

YMMV

@IncrdiBill: I took your advice and paid for subscription. Do I need to inform anyone about the payments? My paypal email id is different than my email id registered here.
Please let me know.

Thanks
Rajiv

Thanks Rajiv, I hope it works well for you.

Regarding the subscription process, I don't remember how it works, I think you get a confirmation email after a while.

Moderators don't have access to that area but I'm sure you'll get everything you need to complete your access ASAP.

Even without guarantees, and even if it's scary, there is huge value in having fresh eyes look at your work.

This is so true.

But avoid drinking beer it damages liver, lol

Before incredibill speaking about supporter forum, I never knew there is supporter forum also, Even though i am regular at adsense forum, I think WebmasterWorld need to do some adjustments.

FYI, I'm told all subscriptions are manually processed so it may take a few hours depending on what time of day someone signs up.

Also been a member since 2005 or so. I consider it a cost of doing business. I've gotten a lot more than I put in from this place.

There is virtually no issue you will ever experience with your site(s) that someone here hasn't already worked through it, and posted about it somewhere. Technical, marketing, Google issues, spam, .htaccess, domains, AdSense, DNS - all you have to do is find it.

Probably a good deal, but I like looking at the pony before buying... and that can't be done. And makes perfect sense from a monetary point of engagement. Sadly, the web (ie, Google, Bing, Yahoo and all the minuscule others), are insufficient to compel an expenditure greater than my McD budget. [webmasterworld.com...]

I dunno, I think all the "free" forums here are plenty worth supporting myself; I sent off my first subscription before I ever knew the subscribers section even existed, and in fact I don't get there now near as often as I do here. I just think this is an extremely valuable resource that needs to be supported, so that it's here the next time I really need it. And I will.

Some of us do not want to mention ours sites. I've not subscribed, but I cannot see how anyone can review your site with exposing the URL.

I'd rather expose my URL to a smaller finite group in a private setting than in public, especially where spiders crawl and index everything.

Lots of people expose their URLs at PubCon in front of hundreds of people every year just to get a panel of people to review their site.

I'll stick to a private forum thanks ;)

I think that a lot of us just like to vent about AdSense in general. Anyone who had AdSense in the glory days when it first started up can attest to higher earnings because of less competition.

The single best piece of advice I have got out of Webmasterworld was at a Pubcon in London in 2003 or 2004 by "Shak". TRUST NO ONE

So I wouldn't dream of sharing web sites that I own and control with people who can jump onto ideas in a second.

I was a paid member for a few years. It didn't seem worth it to me. But then again I never really went in there much, and when I did there was not a lot going on. I'm sure if I needed help someone in there would have helped me. That is where folks get their money's worth.

Unless you've changed the rules, IIRC you were not allowed more than one account (username).

@jmcc: Me too! It is 3 days since i have heard anything from subscription department.
If adsense is not running that sub department atleast I think the department is highly impressed with Adsense Support ;)

This is the reason why mostly the appeal for subscription fails I think.

People like incredibill who are highly respected here appeals for reviewing site, taking subscription and people like me follow them in and then sub department not responding at all.
humm what a pity.
I was told that there is 3 days holiday in US but cant they make it simply automatic.
We also have similar type of subscription on our site with paypal and the full process is automatic.
No human intervention is required unless user asks for it. After payment user gets automated email with all the instructions.
Is it very difficult feature for webmasterworld to implement here?
Payment frauds and other things can always reviewed after allowing the access.
Just my 2 cents.

Thanks
Rajiv

Frankly speaking I never understand why people hesitate to show their site to fellow webmasters. How you can have your website so secretive? If you idea is so simple to copy then IMHO its not worth it.
I may be wrong but just think that every day your site is viewed by 1000s of people (If it is successful and you are earning loads of $$ from it). Do you think that all these 1000s of people are pure users?
I always look at my competitor's site and pick up good things from it and implement it in my ways on my site and they also do the same thing. But we both are in the business and have our own set of loyal users and all.
I feel that every successful site has got its own sauce for success and its not very easily repeatable.

My 2 cents.

Thanks
Rajiv

LOL
Then why you do not have your website in your profile ?

The reason for me is that I do not want some little tyke click bombing my adverts.

Your reason ?

Correct, and i'm sorry it has worked out that way this weekend. I know they will get to it as soon as they return later today.

@rajivatre
It was precisely because of the high levels of fraud that the system was made manual. It's a consequence of manual processing there are delays, and i'm sorry all the genuine Supporters have to jump through this hoop.

Thanks.

@lame_wolf:
Your reason ?
My reason is purely my lazyness. Now since you have mentioned it I will update my profile. Never bothered to take a good look at my profile here.

@engine : Never mind, I just thought that you could do with somewhat better system.
For eg. even though you dont allow to access the supporter's forum immediately after payment, you can always send an email (automated) stating that your payment is received and we are processing it and it could take 2-3 working days (to be on safer side). That is only what I meant from my long post.
Anyways thanks very much for your clarification.

Thanks
Rajiv
