There is a trend toward large ad formats like a 300X600. When will AdSense start offering large format ad units at premium CPMs to publishers?

Hopefully never. Bigger ads are more annoying. ;-)

I think it's about time adsense offered a better variety of ad units, wider units and custom sizes to all.

Aren't they though?

It's bad enough landing on sites that have 3 ad units stuffed up top and a teensy weensy bit of content shoved inbetween them. For the average consumer, many probably end up clicking on an ad by mistake.

So, you want bigger ads? Just what we need, MFAs that are one BIG ad up top and then little ad units sprinkled all around it.

Who needs an actual website anymore? All you need is a domain, a db, and a bunch of ad units assembled on the page surrounding one paragraph of text. Just be sure that paragraph blends right in with those ad units.

Ya, I'm being a schmuck. ;)

Wasn't Mcluhan who famously said "The ad IS the content"? ;)
