US cheque to Aus bank account dates

Just for everyone's comparison, I just looked at how long it has taken from month's end for the money to appear in my account in Australia. For my 5 payments so far this year it has taken 5.5 to 6 weeks.

I use AMP and have to post my cheque to Sydney (as they don't have branches), and including postal delay my cheques are clearing in 5-7 days total - which is excellent. They charge `up to $40 + foreign bank fee'.

My bank clears the cheques pretty much immediately - the same day, anyway - and charges me a flat fee of Aus$10 for any number of US$ cheques (I combine Amazon cheques with Adsense when I have them).

which banks in Australia have the lowest fees to cash google cheques? I am not really concerned about the time it takes to clear the cheques

For my 5 payments so far this year it has taken 5.5 to 6 weeks.

Google pays on a net+30 basis, so it's actually 1.5 to 2 weeks (which is pretty normal for posting time + cheque clearing).

If you have any other US cheques they will put them in together.

I use NAB. It costs me AU$10 per cheque (so 5 cheques in the 1 deposit = $50).
The money is available in 1-2 days.

We use the Commonwealth Bank and they charge $10 per foreign cheque as well :(.
