You remember my best student, building up his own web site with AdSense.

He was today reading my web site and found an ad for a special color.

The ad had not any relationship to the page, even not the site of me, he was just visiting.

The as had only a relation to a Google search, he performed a day before.

You can't opt out. Not of what you think IBAs is anyway. Disabling IBAs leaves that part on.

jetteroheller,

So he didn't visit a website on that search?

My (very fuzzy) understanding is that visitors will still be shown IBAs based on their own interactions with specific websites that track their activity, regardless of publishers' opting in or out - BUT that opting out will still prevent IBAs being displayed to visitors whose activity wasn't tracked that way.

I'm probably all wrong about this, though. There's so much personalization and tracking going on that I have a hard time distinguishing between the types.

The search had been about colors for light bulbs in cars. He visited the page.

After some times of use, the yellow color of the direction indicator or red color of the brake light fades out.

Replace it or paint it with a special color

He had used this color some decades ago and wanted to find out,
is this special color stil available.

A very rare niche product. Si it's very good to use as an interest based ad indicator. I even dit not know, that something like this color exists.
