Other ad network ads on an AdSense site

Displaying ads from AdSense and other networks on my website

From AdSense Policy

Competitive Ads and Services

In order to prevent user confusion, publishers may not display Google ads or search boxes on websites that also contain other ads or services formatted to use the same layout and colours as the Google ads or search boxes on that site. Although you may sell ads directly on your site, it is your responsibility to ensure that these ads cannot be confused with Google ads.

I am wondering if it's ok to display ads from other networks on pages on my website where I don't display AdSense ads. The alternate ads sizes are 300x250, while AdSense ads are 336x280; also the color schemes are different.

I have some pages where I prefer not to display AdSense at all, cos they may be interpreted 'wrong'. So I was thinking if I could use Clicksor on those pages.

I'll be very thankful for you insight and experiences :) I am total newbies, so please.

As long as they are not formatted to look like Google ads, you should be okay (from Google's side) But make sure you check the other ad network too. At one point, you couldn't run both Google and Yahoo ads on the same page, then Google loosened their policy - but Yahoo didn't.

I will not be running both ads on the same page. Some pages for AdSense, some for Clicksor, but never together. Looks are also very different. So I guess I'll be safe :) Thanks

Just to confirm what Netmeg pointed out, it's fine to have other ad networks ads appearing on the same page or the same site as Google ads.

It's against Google policy to display Google ads or search boxes on websites that contain other ad networks (or any ad service) using the same format on that site as Google ads, to eliminate user confusion.

If the looks are different, you're good to go.

Thanks for the input ASA. I'd like to clarify a little bit more. Assuming AdSense ads and Clicksor ads appear on the same site but on different pages:

A. If the color schemes are different, but the ad sizes are the same; are they considered different or not?

B. What about image ads of same sizes? Text ads can be color customized, but there's nothing much we can do about image ads. Will displaying image ads from another network of the same size as AdSense image ads constitute a violation?

C. Wouldn't the Clicksor branding at the bottom right be sufficient enough to differentiate their ads from Google's?

Thanks.

The criteria is that the 3rd party ads can not in any way be mistaken for Google ads. (And that's for ads on the same page) From what you describe, you should have no problem.

Thanks netmeg. I tried putting Clicksor on some of my pages, but they are still showing ad templates. Their support is also very unresponsive. Also, my traffic took a dip (~60%) after I put the Clicksor code. Will analyze again tomorrow, Clicksor will need to probably go away.
