Hi everyone,

I wanted to introduce myself as the new ASA. We've had some transitions on our team, and so as you've probably noticed, we haven't been as active with posting here in recent months. But we've still been reading your posts, and we're looking to get more involved again.

As ASA, I'd like to use this space to get to know you all better, address your concerns, provide clarifications, and hear your feedback on how we can improve AdSense for all publishers.

I'll be reading the posts daily and contributing as much as I can. I'm very much looking forward to the dialogue and hope it'll be as valuable for you as it will be for the AdSense team and me!

Thanks,
ASA

A bit of irony in this?

Welcome ASA!
It's been a while. We have some catching up to do.
Will you have an official Q&A/feedback session or will you only be contributing when a topic requires some clarification?
There's about a year's backlog of issues to discuss but I don't want to inundate you on your first week here.

@eniac

re:So, Please do not tell us general things about adsense.

That's all you're going to get eniac. The good stuff is restricted to closed session board rooms. They keep it tight so they can manipulate it at will, which I suspect they do often.

I've been phasing adsense out in favor of direct advertising on a semi-aggressive basis for the last 3 months. I'd have done it last year but the borg hadn't broke it off deep enough in me yet. Plus I thought the move to direct advertisers would be too labor intensive. Well, it is labor intensive but I'm getting true value for my real estate again, something adsense hasn't given me for several years now.

I was with this program from the start. When they rolled out, I was there. Nice 4-digit payouts every month. Christmas presents, etc... Not anymore. What's happened? Well, I've grown is what's happened. I've added sites. I've added content.. My network is now twice the size as it was when I started out with adsense, twice the content, twice the traffic and I'm making a fifth of the money that I used to.

What's up with that anyway ASA?

No, never mind. You'll probably give me some plex-approved canned party line and brother (or sister) I've heard them all.

Anyway, enjoy your stay. It's just temporary. You'll get a bit of seniority racked up and be able to move on to something else....

Welcome ASA!

It's nice to see a new face behind the name and hope you stick around for a while.

Ignore all those giving you grief in your initial welcome message, I think manners have flown out the window, as the rest of us appreciate your efforts.

I totally agree.

And some here will whinge and whine, even if you do give them an answer.

For now, I'll mostly be contributing when topics require clarification and I'll post new threads on updates or other info I think you might find useful.

I'm open to suggestions on ways I can add value to the forum (whether it's through Q&A or otherwise). Can't promise I'll be able to respond and act on all feedback but will definitely see what's within my scope to help where I can.

Now THAT would be a first!

No disrespect to you ASA however many prior-ASAs have found that AdSenseland is way outside their comprehension simply because they've never had to suffer the totally bizarre sudden Google changes when the publishers have complied to EVERY programme policy!

There is something wrong when genuine publishers are SMASHED because of an algo change.

Honestly, my AdSense earnings are a very small percentile, Google's problem is that IF I (and possibly many others) remove AdSense then Google will see a diminishing return from BUSINESS sites.

Can anyone tell me why it is I am trying to teach Google how to suck eggs?
