Heck, is it the UK weather or am I hours behind?

My Page Impressions are very low, about half what I would normally expect at this time of day. Anyone else?

Me too, HuskyPup. It's DOWN. I hope that in January it picks up. It has in past years.

I'm looking at the runner up day ever with Adsense (over 6 years now). I guess that my site being the first organic result for a Google 'doodle' running today in my country might be of some influence.

YMDV (your mileage does vary ;))

Same here Huskypup and since we have been running adsense way back from 2003 this is always our best time of year. We even added a new ad unit our old english speaking rep suggested years ago and have increased daily clicks by 500 extra clicks a day and still have seen no improvement in overall earnings.

It's almost like the system said "hey, thanks for those clicks but you arent making a penny more then what you have been making".

One shining point is direct ad sales have never been stronger so that's helping make up the slack. This is why I dont buy into the whole notion that adsense is down due to the economy anymore.

I remember reading on the adsense forum where a guy said he was getting paid 4 cents a click on one oh his pages, but on the same page, he was charged 12 cents for a click (he was on adwords too)....

After the first 5 days of December I'm already 9.6% down on 2009, this does not bode well:-(

FWIW my B&M business is extremely busy with enquiries and orders and AdSense usually goes hand-in-hand, hmmm, strange.

Low volume of clicks (expected this time of year) but really huge EPCs starting December 1st. Guess some budgets got tricked out for the holidays.

It's better today. Not great, actually quite low compared to last month, but better compared to the last few days.

So far not good..I would swear it's 12:00 noon rather than 7:40 in the evening by looking at the impressions and clicks! ...and now I can't even run reports...I keep getting "failed" as a result. :(

Off 20% from November. December always bites.

Arrgh...cannot get reports. Keeps "failing."

Reports working again for me now.

Tuesday was my best day since mid-November, all metrics "back to normal" to the extent that compared to December's average earnings were +30%.

I bet this doesn't last long!

adsense is just a blank page for me right now, is this an opera issue or is it happening generally (has been like this for a day)

8:50 am. Super great day today already. It's like pulling teeth or boring but I've found that the more I listen to Google, read their help pages, watch and "understand" their youtube Adsense tutorials, and implement their suggestions on my site, the more money I make with Adsense. I had been messing around with my adsense account's default settings looking for answers (you know, third party advertisers, interest based ads on/off, text or txt & Img on/off, etc.), looking to increase my revenue and the problem has been me all along (wrong ad format, ad location, text only ads, ad choice of color, section targeting, traffic, placement targeting, etc.)

Some people think they know all about Adsense but they sure don't. There is a ton of misinformation out there, especiall when it comes to "interest based ads" and "placement targeting". It pays to learn, from the source itself, to the T (all the tricks) how Google Adsense works, the ad auction, placement targeting, adsense section targeting (including "ignore", knowing when to use it to influence the ad auction, etc.), Adwords (thanks netmeg for your posts and experience), etc. It pays to trust Google on their adsense advice even though most of us think Google doesn't have our best interest at heart. The more money we make, the more money they do as well. December has been a killing month for me so far. I hope you guys' earnings get back on track.

What i can't figure out is why every time the visitors go up, the earnings go down and when they go down the earnings r up again. I mean variations of visitors between 5 and 10%

I have a broad range of websites.

First week of Dec 2009 CTR was 6%
First week of Dec 2010 CTR was 3.5%
