Question about order of Adsense blocks in source code

If the 2nd block has twice the CTR should I make it first in source code?

Hello everyone!

I remember reading about this somewhere, but couldn't find it. Thought I'd ask here.

If I have two Adsense blocks on a page and the second one has twice the CTR as the first, should I rearrange the order they load in the source to allow the higher paying ads to show on the second one? Then use some div tricks to show it in the second slot.

Is that old school? Does G already account for this and send the higher paying ads to the 2nd block?

you read it at google. Yup. That's what you should do. They actually say your highest paying ad block should be the first one to load on the page.

However, i did it an saw no improvement.

Right. Thought I read it somewhere. I just think that with their technology they would automatically do this. Doesn't it make sense in the effort to maximize our earnings that they would take this into account?

Perhaps that is why you didn't see any change. Because they are already doing this for us?

it could be, i don't know.
what i'm wondering is if there's any difference between putting the adsense block before or after the actual content of the page
