new adsense interface -- you can block more catagories

dont know if anyone else has noticed this, but i havent seen it mentioned yet.
if you switch to the new adsense interface then it lets you block more categories. it only let me block a maximum of eight on the old version, but now i can do all 10.

I haven't played around with the new one yet. Does the category blocking work? The old one fails to block political ads.

The extended category blocking is still in beta phase and has not been rolled out to all publishers yet.
I for example have been testing the beta interface for month now and I am still only be able to block 11 sensible categories.

However I due make use of it because all my sites somewhat are about medical topics which makes it easy to decide which categories to block.

I once tried to allow all of them and my earnings dropped instantly.
So yes it works however to which degree I can't tell.

I am not impressed by category blocking as too many ads are not properly categorised. A few minutes ago I used the competitive ad filter to block an escort agency whose ad should not have appeared on the site in the first place.
