How do you recommend dealing with direct competitors on the Competitive Ad Filter in Adsense for a webstore? Aren't the direct competitors the top bidders, because their relevancy for the specific keywords on a website should be the highest? If so, I guess blocking them will remove the highest source of income. IDK...What've you seen?

Ads on a Webstore should be minimal anyway.
Why do you want potential customers to leave your site for a few cents click?
Aren't they there to buy from you?
I would focus my energy on making my shop more appealing and landing pages better converting then Advertise other webshops ;)

* I make $1 per click for AS on the webstore, so it's not a few cents.
* Many webstores show ads on their sites, albeit not direct competitors (thus my question). Look at buy.com and eBay.
* My assumption/logic is that if they didn't find what they were looking for on my store, it's ok for me to make $ before they leave ;)

I would not put ads on an ecommerce site. Conflicting goals.
