Are Adsense reports real time?

Are the account reports updated real time? Or is there an interval that anybody knows about or has observed?

They are delayed, and some days they are more delayed than others. And then sometimes impressions update but not clicks, or vice versa.

The official word from the AdSense FAQ:

Reports are typically updated hourly.

But I know I have seen them update much more frequently than this, but there still seems to be a lag factor involved.

I think it would be very helpful if Google would timestamp their stats, like this:

These statistics are from information last updated:
Today, 14:20 PST

...with an account-configurable option to specify the Webmaster's time zone (so, for instance, Webmasters in NY could alter their account profile to see "Today, 17:20 EST")
