Now I know this topic has probably been beat to death around here but I have a substandard question to ask about this:

I run a website and have added phpBB forums approximatelly a year ago. They are starting to become somewhat autonomous which is great. In general the site is doing great after reading that amazing post on 15K/day w/ Google alone...really changed my life, no exagerration.

I am trying to capitalize on every aspect of the website so I thought that putting up ads on the forums would be a good thing to try.

Not that high traffic, stats for Oct. were:
~8,000 visits and ~28,000 pageviews
but it is constantly growing, as I said, it is starting to become autonomous which until a few months ago was a dead area of the website.

Am I at a point where Adsense would make a bit of cash? Even $50/month would make me happy...it would be more than I am making right now at the moment from the forums!

There's only one way to find out: give it a try.

Good point...what have been the more successful locations of the code exactly. I am thinking on the bottom of the page right below the last topic and directly above the New Topic, Reply buttons...

I'm a little fuzzy on the tos for this forum. However, there is a great article in the phpbb support forums on how to include adsense in your forums.

I also did the mod that changes the format of the urls in your board to a more google friendly form.

If the moderators of this board say it's oK, I'll post a link to the thread that showed how to add adsense to your phpbb boards. You do have to be careful where you place the adsense ads so you don't violate google's tos. I've found that adsense is pretty good about serving up relevant content.

It's also a little easier if you are using the default template for phpbb. However, if you know your way around php you can make the mods for other templates as well.

Actually I would appreciate it if you would PM me the URL, that way we don't step on any toes. I am fully proficient in PHP as well so modding the code a bit won't be a problem...Thanks a lot :)

[phpbb.com...] and [phpbbhacks.com...] have numerous threads and hacks on adding AdSense to phpbb forums.
