Update AdSense eMail Preferences?

Today, in logging into AdSense there was a message that asked - "Want to Receive Invitations and Suggestions from AdSense?"

The message went on to explain:

...we noticed that your email preferences are not currently opted-in to receiving Performance Suggestions or Special Offers. We highly recommend that you update your AdSense account to be able to receive customized emails from our AdSense team.

I'm wondering if I should attach any significance to this, and whether it makes sense to update my eMail preferences as suggested. Any downsides?

The mails are so few and far between that there's no downside to receiving additional info about Adsense.

It's not like they are selling your email and you get bombarded with special offers.

Just turn it on.

I got one of those too, and I already get everything in email that AdSense has to offer.

I would say that unless you are a regular reader of the AdSense blog it is a good idea to sign up for everything. Always good stuff and fairly infrequent.

Funny. I joined AdSense back in 2003, the day they went live with it. This is the first time I've gotten that message that I can recall.
